SUMMARY:DIABENDRO Congress - 3rd Edition
LOCATION:Naples\, Italy
DESCRIPTION:\n\nCONGRESS RATIONALE\n\n\n\nDiabetology, andrology and reproductive and s
exuality medicine, and endocrinology are closely interconnected disciplines
of human medicine, sharing multiple pathophysiological mechanisms and desc
ribing disorders of multifactorial aetiology, frequently associated. \nIn p
articular, alterations in glyco-insulinemic, metabolic and cardiovascular m
etabolism are highly prevalent in patients with gonadal, reproductive and s
exual dysfunction, as well as in patients with pituitary and adrenal endocr
ine disorders, such as acromegaly, growth hormone deficiency and Cushing's
syndrome; on the other hand, gonadal, reproductive and sexual disorders are
highly prevalent in patients with diabetes and pituitary and adrenal endoc
rine disorders. \nIn addition, lifestyle-related metabolic pathological con
ditions, such as obesity, are of increasing interest today, and consequentl
y the importance of nutrition and exercise as factors in the prevention and
treatment of these pathologies represent topics of enormous interest that
will be presented in an innovative update both as such, and as closely conn
ected as complications and possible therapeutic solutions to gonadal, repro
ductive and sexual dysfunctions. \nIn addition to the pathology per se, the
specific pharmacological therapies used in the various treatments also hav
e an impact on metabolism, fertility and sexuality; the most recent data fr
om the international literature will therefore be shown, which may be of su
pport in clinical practice, particularly in the management of metabolic, re
productive and sexual sequelae. Ample space will also be devoted to the piv
otal role of lifestyle modifications and nutraceutical supplementation. The
programme of the event includes sessions with talks by experts from nation
al reference centres for the pathologies covered by the congress, who will
present the latest diagnostic therapeutic evidence and new treatment perspe
ctives across these areas of medicine; the programme also includes debates
and round tables on controversial and/or multidisciplinary topics, with mom
ents of plenary and interactive discussion. \nThe Congress is primarily aim
ed at healthcare professionals, in particular andrologists, urologists, gyn
 aecologists, obstetricians, endocrinologists, diabetologists, nutritionists
, internal medicine doctors, oncologists, psychologists/psychiatrists, nurs
es, general practitioners and biologists, but also to all professionals wis
hing to deepen their knowledge of the pathophysiological link between diabe
tes, gonadal, reproductive and sexual dysfunctions, and pituitary and adren
al endocrinopathies, and to keep abreast of the latest therapeutic innovati
ons. The event is also strongly geared towards the training and active invo
lvement of students at all levels of higher education, who wish to suppleme
nt their studies by incorporating the topics covered by the congress.\n
