Call for the Deputy Chief Editor of Andrology
On behalf of the European Academy of Andrology (EAA), the Publications Committee invites applications for a new co-Editor of Andrology, for a four-year term, starting from January 2026. The new editor will start as Deputy Editor and after two years will become the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for a further two years.
About the Journal
Andrology is the joint scientific journal of the EAA and the American Society of Andrology (ASA), and the two societies appoint each a Chief Editor. Andrology has been publishing since January 2013, following the merger of the prior journals of the respective societies, the International Journal of Andrology (EAA) and the Journal of Andrology (ASA). Andrology publishes high-quality scientific articles within the broad field of andrology and male reproductive biology, including clinical and basic research studies. The journal is currently published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (Wiley), utilising a hybrid publishing model that combines subscription-based and Open Access options. More information is available on the journal’s website: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/20472927
About the Editors and Their Responsibilities
The two Editors, the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor, work closely together and share responsibilities, which include directing the peer-review evaluation of submitted papers, selecting associate editors, making final decisions on publications, and submitting reports to the two societies. Their expertise should be complementary, covering both basic and clinical andrology. The Editors are expected to develop the journal along their vision, including planning special issues and editorials, but are expected to follow the mission of the two societies (represented by their Publications Oversight Committees) in collaboration with the publisher (Wiley). The Editors are helped by editorial assistants and are supported in the reviewing work by the Board of Associate Editors (who handle the peer-review) and the Editorial Board, which is composed of experts willing to serve as reviewers.
Required Qualifications
The applicant must have an established reputation in the field of andrology/reproductive medicine, with a strong record of publications, an interest in and experience with editorial work and academic publishing, a solid track record of peer review for academic journals, proficient writing skills, and some administrative experience. The membership in EAA is preferred but not required. However, it is expected that the successful non-member applicant will join EAA upon appointment.
Application
Interested applicants should send a letter of interest with a motivation, summary of qualifications, together with a CV and list of publications by e-mail to the Chair of the EAA Publications Committee, Davor Ježek (e-mail:
